First Jazz attempt - Perhaps I amount to Rain (Only if the Sun comes out, Certainly)

This is the first song I post on these forums.

I have been writing music for a little over five years now, and I specialised mostly in metal/electronic music. This is my first attempt at a jazz piece, and I tried to properly reproduce the improvisational effect of a jazz guitar. I feel like the second part (the faster part) is more blues-oriented than anything else, but I think this piece's general direction is jazz. Don't forget this is a first attempt at a very complex musical genre.

If this is your first jazz piece then you're really on the right track, it's excellent!!

The piece really grew on me, I ended up listening to it over and over again just because I liked it so much.

Your tune (<< $1,000 to anyone who catches the jazz reference there!) is quite good - especially for a first foray.

The groove is nice, the language isn't bad and the overall feel is good!

Some things to dig into: advance your vocabulary a bit, and think about form and structure - energy-wise. The piece builds a bit, but I'd like to hear more development and direction from it...

I originally wanted to make this a structured piece, but I then decided to only make 2 main riffs given my lack of knowledge about jazz structure.
