A Minor String Quartet in a Minor Key

Featured Replies

Yes, thats actually the title. I wrote and recorded this with some friends for my college portfolio. I was influenced to write this by listening to tribal dance-ish music. It's kinda minimalistic, which isn't really my strongest style to write in, but it gives me an opportunity to show off my more percussive/rhythmic side. I hope you enjoy it.

You can listen to it here: A Minor String Quartet in a Minor Key - Putfile.com

There is no file on the putfile site. I just get a nice red "x" instead. But it *looks* great, based on what I can get from the score without the audio.

At measure 111, is that a stray fermata, or does just the one instrument hold while the rest of the group keeps going?

Well, I'm not sure to tell you about the file, the link works just fine for me. Maybe you don't have windows media player installed? The fermata was actually taken out of the parts I gave to the performers, apparently I forgot to take it out of this version of the score as well. I had an updated one on Finale that I used for my portfolio (manly just to cut down on pages).

I'll attach a midi file, but it sounds so much better with real instruments. I won't actually listen to it myself....haha
