I haven't got enough memory left to download... but doing classic and contemporary is great! An excellent choice!

thanks! I look forward to post things regularly. im having some issues decoding this accurately into finale, its struggling through the notes and the timing is really bizarre, do you have any suggestions?

Hey Matt,

Welcome to YC!

This is quite an interesting piece. The rhytmic variation at end of the first sentence is nice. This stays so throughout the piece.

I couldn't realy follow the music. I mean i couldn't understand where the piece was going, but that can just be me. I also think it misses a bit of "personality". It's a bit superficial to me. I think you make great use of rythem though.

P.s. The more you comment on other members there peices, the more the will return the favor.

for & the superficial part,

well i think thats probably because its kind of hard to consider inflection in the piece when its composed & mp3 is rendered on a computer,im sure if it was played that would definitely change

thank u for the feed back!

Your propebly right. A pianist could give it it's personality.

here is a midi version of this piece, converting it into midi,

messed up some of my rhythms, and completely the velocity of the notes. and there are 2 parts to this piece that need a bit of cleaning up

anywho I wanted to post this since the mp3 file is so big and I wanted to see some more opinions on this etude

Sounds like you had a couple of interesting ideas going on is this piece.

For me, I think I would enjoy this piece even more if you weren't entirely in C Minor all the time. Borrowing harmonies, and melodic tones outside the key of the piece will be a great way to add some additional fire and flavor. Also, it seemed that you didn't give a chance to some of the more interesting rhythmic ideas. I think if you expand on them a little you'll really have something wonderful.

Would it be too much to ask for a score? An etude (especially for the piano) needs to be judged with a score. After all, this sounds like a study for fingers and the hand for arpeggios?

I would love to help, so a score would be nice to start!
