Battle Drive

Featured Replies

This is battle music not for any specific game yet. I've been told it sounds sorta like FF battle music. It is meant to be a loop. Please give comments/criticism!

EDIT: If you want to use this in a game, ask me permission first (obviously)

Here is the music in mp3 format

haha, it's really good :) And it does sound like FF style battle music (has a Nobuo Uematsu feel to it ;)) Great work :)

You've got some awkward chords in their, but mostly it's very good. I liked it alot. Yeah, it has a sort of Uematsu feel to it. And that's not a bad thing. So, I've been listening to it for a while on loop, and I have no idea how many times it's looped. That's a good sign for game music.

Did you have a particular idea in mind when writing it? Is it just any battle scene? Or a specific sort of battle. What sort of game did you think of when writing?

Thanks for the comments! I'm not sure that this would be fit for every battle scene; the beginning, which is has a slow drum beat and is basically quarter notes, would sound awkward in some battles. When I was writing it I really had no idea what kind of battle it'd be for :pinch:. I just kind of added things that made it feel driving (thus 'battle drive' ;))

Welcome to YC.

For 15 years old, this is a great start. The loop itself needs a little work, but it may6 be just that a note or two got cut off.

Now all you need are some decent sounds and some more experience. You will get better the more you do.

Sounds like a battle theme, actually reminds me of Zoids or Transformers from 10 or 7 years ago.

Everything seems to blend together nicely in my opinion, except for maybe a few chords/notes here and there, I can't pin point a location but I know I heard something* somewhere*

Sounds good, keep up the good work.

Wow, this is the stuff I like to hear when it comes to Incidental Music. Typical classic sound imo.

I would prefer the percussion to be quicker on the "shell" parts. it would add more excitement, other than that. I like it a lot.

Thanks for the comments! :)

Could you possibly specify where the parts are that have the clashing chords or notes so I can fix it? Just so you know some of it is intentional.

What do you mean by the "shell" parts? Are you talking about when the drum beat slows down at :48 or are you talking about the beginning and end?

I guess what I meant were more drum rolls. that's all, lol.

So much for feedback, my apologize.

For a battle theme, I find the build up just slightly slow for my tastes before it falls into the B part. Other than that, very solid battle theme. I like.

Hello Rare Pickle,

I listened to your piece and have to say it is very interesting. I think it does have some similarities with 1990's RPG battle music. You said that this is meant to loop, but this wouldn't loop well and ends very abruptly (unless I'm mistaken and it loops within the piece at some point.) Is this a WIP?

It is a great start, keep up the good work!

This isn't a WIP, but I could certainly add more.

It should loop to the start right when the song ends, with no breaks.

Thanks again for the comments!
