Holst's Suite No. 2 in F major

Here is my arrangement of Host's Suite no. 2 in f Major.

There might be some range issues I am aware of that and going to fix it :p

I haven't posted in a while any of my music, and will as soon as I finish up some of my compositions, but here is another arrangement.

There is a part where the Bassoon and Euph. play unison...it has to say "to trombone" in the Euph. part I forgot to Put that in there xD

Now, I don't have the full score in my posession, but I've listened to this piece many times and the only differences between your arrangement and the Holst's real piece are:

• Holst's first movement (March) had the first two themes, a trio, and a repitition of the first two themes. Your first movement only has the first two themes
  
• Holst's second movement (Song Without Words)had a clarinet solo in the beginning but you have the piccolo, oboe 1 and clarinet 1 play it instead. Also, the original is in F minor but yours is in D minor
  

You also have some problems with your tempos. The march should be at about quarter note= 120, and the Finale should be at dotted quarter note= 140.

Other than that, your "arrangement" doesn't seem to be an arrangement. It's a mus. file of the original piece.

No.....you can join ASCAP after one performance of a work to a live audience. This performance has to meet certain requirements (Like not being performed at a high school), but that's about all you need to get in.

Well away from ASCAP misunderstandings and instead on to the piece.

The first thing that really struck me as I listened to this was, to be honest, was "why was this written?" This really is more of a transcription that an arrangement, as many of Holst's original orchestrations are there, and the only real difference between this and the actual piece is the lacking of a couple repetitions. Also, what is the worth of an arrangement of a piece for the same medium that it was originally written? In other words, why did you write this out for band, when the band already has the original? Why should a band play this version instead of the actual Holst piece? So I have to ask, why did you write this? Maybe from there I can provide some more critique...

well, I was bored.......you gave me an idea....hmmm.....I should do it for Orchestra.......
