Song for Aliziath

Featured Replies

This is my first time posting a song, so it does feel just a little weird...

Anyway, I wrote this song last year, probably one of the first things I'd ever written. I wrote it because at my school the advanced music group split into trios and we had to write a few songs for a competition with the other trios, and then perform them. In the end we never did, because no one else wrote anything.

Personally I think it's a bit boring at times, and unoriginal, but my friends tell me I think that about everything I do, all the time. In case you're wondering about the name, I decided to write the song that was performed at the funeral of one of my fictional characters, (3 guesses to what her name is) from my only finished story.

I'd probably accept constructive critisism more than complements (betting I won't get any of those) so I could change it (though my friends might not be very happy about that.)

Hmmm..... It would seem I scared everyone away, by talking too much. Or else, (This is wishful thinking) you're all in the wrong timezone for me to expect rather fast replies. I'm going for the first option, so I'll just be sitting here all alone....

(If I'm scaring you, don't leave, I know I'm weird, but I can stop!)

Well, we can't comment on this piece unless you post your score and/or midi.

I did that again? I thought I had it that time? Guess not...

Zequiem!!

Song for Aliziath is awesome, but the flute and clarinet sound on MIDI annoys me a bit because when we play it, it sounds so much kooler!

SFA is awesome. There are so many dynamics! I never abide to them.

Awesome song! Post Memory Waltz and Energize! But don't post the .MUS, because people will go Blunke and use it.

I haven't been on in ages!

Wow......

I can't believe YOU posted on this Skye!

That's because there are TOO MANY dynamics.......

I really like this!

It has that subdued, grand feel to it I am very fond of. All the dynamics really give it life, and make it feel like the piece is more of a person, than an abstract thing. Very neat.

But I have a complaint! Just when the piece seems to be building steam, you let it fizz out at the end :( It's true that a piece doesn't always require a climax, but it's rarely a good thing to build up just a little music at the end, then back down and go away. You may want to consider editing the end some.

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed this! :D

I'm glad you enjoyed it, but I'm starting to feel bad that you're posting on all my stuff, and I haven't returned the favour.

I'll get onto that as soon as I can, but hopefully before school starts again! I don't want it to quite yet.

Heh, school's a drag, it's true <_<

I'd appreciate your input on my pieces, thank you very much for offering to do so! Don't feel like you're rushed to do so though: just do so whenever you have time and are relaxed, k? ;)
