January 21, 200917 yr The horn line is a bit jumpy to my ears in the beginning. I wouldn't have the ostinato in the trumpet (violin?) I really like the theme. The chordal passage comes up kinda quick. I like the transition to the next part, but it degrades to chords very quickly... maybe play with the rhythms a bit in that 2nd fast part. The final theme i think doesn't reflect what the rest of the piece is angling for. It's very triumphant, while the rest of the piece is more moody. Nice first try. Listen more, get ideas, write more :)
