Winds of Change

This is a quartet consisting of a Flute, an Oboe, a Violin and a Cello.

This was composed thru Sonar, so there will be no score.

The mood created by this piece suits the title - pensive, quiet but not peaceful. A scene it could describe would be a person standing alone on a seashore looking out across the waves and thinking through some serious problems coming in the near future.

Well done. I'm looking forward to the next movement.

I hope I still have that next movement in my head. I have still been tweaking this one a lot without paying further heed to the next movement and it is slowly filtering out of my head.

Now I don't know if there will even be a second movement. I have added to the first and will post it soon. The added section finishes off the first and I will have to see if a second movement for this comes to me.

I could definitely see this as part of a movie score or something of that nature. Or just a wonderful piece!

i am of the same thinking, sounds like some music movie, quite "oriental" but very nice indeed.

I like particularly the effects between flute and oboe, it becomes bright and shiny, makes me see nice colours, i like that!

in the second part where there's the pizzicato and the oboe playing, makes me think of some duck walking around (the pizzicato), very fun!

I'd like it to be of 3 movements at least... and if one is shorter, where's the problem??

I never intended this for the movies but then a lot of Beethoven's works are in movies.

Of course the Oriental feel comes from the Pentatonic scales employed.

Not sure where the duck came from, but that duck would go well with a nice orange glaze.

This is easily one of my favorite pieces as well. I have composed about 3/4 of a 2nd movement and will return to it when I am ready.
