He there!

I just started with making songs with my computer. I would love

to know what you think about it!!

Here's a link to my music: ChrisisD's Audio

I hope you can find some time to listen to it. I want to know what

you like about my music, but especially what can be done better.

Like sounds, feel or composition.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Chrisis

Hey Chris,

I,ve listened to Don't Take It Away(take two) and i though it was quit good. It was a bit repetative, but i did enjoy it. Maybe you can try to work with some sort of form more. Try to create contrasting sections and such. I havent' heard any piece but this one, so i don't know what the others are like. I felt this one lacked variability. But it wasn't bad.

Groeten,

Gijs

Thanks for your review! I know my song aren't that special (yet)... but I'm working on it. I just started making music on my pc about a month ago. So there's still very much to learn!

I added another short song: Troubles. I want to make it longer, but I don't really know what to do with it. Maybe you got any ideas??

Hello there,

Just listened to your songs posted. I will start with the beginning, but please don't ask me not to be harsh in my oppinions. I expect that you are here to hear good parts, but more bad parts of your music to avoid them in the future.

In the first place, I would say - get rid of the predictable in your music. Some are repetitive, but this is not bad all the time. But I had the sensation that I already knew all the chords before I even listened to the songs. As for the sound, I like it how you play with the low frequencies. You also like those, huh? And the piano tones are good. are they VST, Refills?

everlasting - there is a problem with that violin at the beginning. In the first place, I wouldn't have chosen the ground notes for the solo (that's also very predictable). maybe try other combinations of notes. As for the sound of that violin, you have to do something with their attack, especially when solo. If you have a longer attack, you won't hear it so unnatural... It is obvious now that you made that on keyboard, and you must trick me, and say - yeah, that's a real violin playing there. After you reconsidered the attack, add a reverb to it, and also delay in your case, panned to right or left, just a bit. It will fill the sound substantially, trust me ! Also, avoid pressing two keys at once when you play a violin solo (you have F# and D at the same time somewhere at the beginning), unless you are sure that it really sounds "orchestral".

Take everything - interesting track - I like the bass theme. And nice panning with the violins there !

Alien Song - That's too bad because of the sound. The music style is named Drum n Bass. You have a Lead n Sweep there. So compellingly, take care of the drum and the bass. They give the energy of this type of music, not the lead !

Funky Piano song - All that is before the beat I find quite useless. Do the slide on the keys a little quicker, and make the drum loop come in at the beginning. You might find better results in dynamics.

That's about all from me. That's my mere oppinion about your music. Keep it up ! You have it. Just a little more work, like you said ! Good luck !!! I will post one of my favourite compositions on this page. It is named Frozen Theatre. Maybe I can make you understand what I mean with those violins I kept stressing you with!

PS: one more thing: never ask others to give you ideas for your songs. You don't ask anybody to love instead of you, right? That's about it with music. It is YOUR music !

Thank you so much for your well appreciated review! Thanks for taking some time to listen to my music. I use Reason 4 with the Real Piano's Refill. I just love the Steinway & Sons Grand Piano, it sounds very real to me (or at least the best on a computer so far).

Let me first say something about Alien Fight: I made it for a friend of mine as sort of a fun gimmick to be put in one of his movies. I made it in about half an hour. (And I know it's Drum 'n' Base)

Everlasting: (I know the titles are also pretty crappy...) First thing I did was alter the strings. I didn't like them so good myself, but it's hard to get a nice solo violin sound... The two keys in that song was a flaw I heard too late, I uploaded it already.

Thats it for now, thanks!!
