MP3 of an old battle theme I did.

Critique would be good, seriously, give me your worst.

I noticed the song was titled random battle.

Does this mean:

1) A random battle that comes from like a world map of such.

or

2) A battle with something that is bizarre or weird.

Those options are probably hard to comprehend, sorry. :)

Now it sounded random but the guitar was off sync with the rest of the song, it sounded very weird, but interesting. It had a good melody that stayed in my head.

So unless you are representing option #2 then the song is perfect for the scene. Option #1 on the other hand, sync that quitar up with everything else. :)

btw, your one of the few members I tend to enjoy listening.

it could just be a random theme he wrote for a battle?

Well you've got some nice melody ideas, but that guitar instrument is just dragging the piece down. I don't know if it's a live recording or what, but it doesn't blend at all with the other synth instruments you're using. It's a matter of sound quality for the most part. The quality of the guitar just sounds much much lower than the quality of the synths.

On a musical note, I feel like the string pad part needs to have more filled out chords - especially in the section from 0:26 on. It sounds right now like it's essentially one line throughout the piece. Also, I would get some variation going in the drum part. Add some little percussive transitions from section to section.

This sounds good to me.

The guitar part was the only thing that really stood out to me :S
