I have a problem when export a midifile from Sibelius in a sequencer . I tried to export a midi to Cubase, chosing the soundset in Sibelius when export; but Cubase does'nt read the sound set articulation, and Kontakt 2 vst in Cubase does'nt load the instruments automaticly !

So the question is : is it possible to export a midifile from Sibelius to Cubase with all articulation of Sound set ? And the Kontakt 2 in Cubase can load the sounds automaticly ? ( So I can work and tweak the final recording in the sequencer )

How can we export a piece in midifile from Sibelius to Cubase and having all the sound set information for the Ewql instrument channel ?

Hrm. So With Kontakt 3 out, I downloaded and installed it. I am recovering from an external HDD failure, so I only just got my new one up and running.

I went ahead and set everything up again, and this time I did not get the "instrument could not be found" pop up when clicking the speaker in the Sibelius mixer window. Unfortunately I am not getting any sound. The Sibelius start up sound plays through just fine, and I made sure to go into the plist file for Gold XP and created a new ContentDir entry with the new library location.

EDIT: well, after trying to open Sibelius one more time 6 times in a row, having it crash 4 times, and hang twice, it finally works... through the internal speakers. Does it just disagree with my Presonus Firebox?

Sorry for the slow response, I've been very busy here.

You need to export your MIDI file choosing "use same device". I would also recommend saving each Kontakt instance as a multi file so you can load them in Cubase. Otherwsie you will need to load each articulation manually.

The autoload and articulation switching used in Sibelius cannot be used in any other program - this is hard coded in Sibelius.

Native Instruments fixed the autoload problem in K3.5.x, so that should all work fine at this point.

As far as no sound, it could be a driver issue - have you updated the Firebox's drivers? There could be a conflict with the internal sound as well - try disabling it from the Device Manager and see if the Firebox is then picked up correctly.

If not, this is an issue for Sibelius tech support as they will have logs of which interfaces have been problematic and what, if any, solutions there are.

The EWQL (Kontakt version) sound sets of Sibelius 5.2 will work in the new version ?

If not, are you planning to make a new version of your EWQL sound-sets for Sibelius 6 ?

I don't know why the Gold XP Pro sound set doesn't work correctly. I used the Gold library and sound set in Sibelius 5.2 and that was fine. But now I've installed Gold XP Pro to have more features in library, but your sound set doesn't work : for exemple, i've got a cello/dblebass/english horn/bass clarinet /bassoon score, and only bass clarinet and a few bassoon samples are read. I've got exactly the same preferences settings that the Gold configuration, which works fine. What's wrong ?

It appears that if I open the mixer in Sibelius and activate for each track the sound bank, it works... But in that case the sound set is useless !

Both Gold and Gold XP Pro libraries have to be in the same folder, that's the point.

I'd rather say it than deleting previous post : it can help some stupid beginners like me ! :toothygrin:

If I'm using Sibelius and Cubase in rewire, and I have the vst EWQL inside Cubase in rewire, can I send via midi the sound set data? Will the EWQ in Cubase change program second the score ?

I have kind of a weird problem with your soundset: running Vista 32bit Sibelius 5.25 and Kontakt 3.0.1. Opening the EWQLSO Gold Edition library in Kontakt 3 standalone is no problem. However when using your soundset in Sibelius it returns a message "the content you are trying to load is not registered (please be sure to start the application that came with the content at least once)". This only seems to be a problem with autoloading the patches since loading them manually is possible without getting an error message. I would appreciate some advice. Thanks in advance

I followed the video and manual but it appears there is something not right. After realizing I wasn't seeing Kontakt in my 'available devices' pop up in sibelius something was wrong.. I realized that my VST go to folder was directed at the wrong folder, so I fixed that and now all my VST's show up in the available devices pop up. I clicked on Kontakt and activated it 3 times. When I click on the little arrow to see the instruments like Strings or whatever all I am able to see is EWQLSO Gold Lite and EWQLSO Gold. I guess that it was okay to just see that? After that I go into the window tab and click mixer. I see the flute and I check to see if I can see the instruments from EWQLSO Gold, and I do see them! I get excited and I click one of the flute options. I then click on a few quarter notes, but as soon as I click on one quarter note I get the follow message:

File was not found. Please check if Library installed correctly.

What do I do? I want to be able to hear the beautiful real orchestra sounds EWQLSO Gold provides, but how do I achieve this now?

And, oh my! I forgot to mention (this might be important) I have sibelius and EWQLSO Gold stored in my external hard drive. My computer couldn't handle more files so I had to do this. My VST's and such are still in the computers own hard drive and they are all located in the same folder.
