O Nata Lux

So I cleaned this piece up a bit, reworked some of the notes and generally improved the look and feel of this piece. Still probably not my strongest work ever, but it holds a special spot in my heart for some reason. I just like the way it sounds and the simplicity I was shooting for. It's in a very odd key (Cb) that i haven't seen sung in a lot, but I don't really think it's too bad, it'll be low for the sopranos at times, but usually down that low I'm looking for for a sound quality than sheer power. They could be supplemented by some altos if needed. Other than that i'm not sure what to say...I'll leave it up for you guys to comment.

Hey this piece is good. There are definate glimpses of greatness lurking within it. The progression in m.27 and 28 seemed a bit odd to me. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Only other thing I'd say is get it out of C flat regardless of how uncommon it is, use its enharmonic key of B. Much easier to read then, but thats just what I would do. Sounds good, keep it up!!!

I thought about that, but for some reason it doesn't sound the same in my ear. Flat keys just have a different feeling about them...in my opinion. It's definitely just my personal preference. Unless the singers have absolute pitch, I don't think it would be hard to read for them at all. But perhaps you're right.

This has a very appealling serenity about it which I enjoyed. But like Steffen said, the key choice is strange.

The music gives me a peaceful feeling. I think it is good to write music about faith. Thank you for sharing your music!
