Threading The Eye Of A Needle... FULL VERSION....

Threading the Eye Of a Needle While Under the Influence Of a Mass Societal Assumption Driven By the Media's Force Fed Gobbledy-Goo...Relatively Speaking of Course....

I decided to lineate this piece rather than isolate into movements....

Movements 1,2,3 are morphed into one piece....

I do not volunteer scores!

So this sub-forum is now "electronic music" I think most of the compositions in this Young Composers forum is electronic based regardless if the intent was acoustical or not.........

This is fun..

It seems a little random, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Is it intended to be performed with the electronics enhancing it.. or is it meant to be taken as it has been presented?

I do not volunteer scores!

Why? That's the only way a musician takes your ideas and translates them into sound. So the score is every much as important as the mp3.

Thus: PDF Score please!

I like this a lot. Did notice some clipping, however...mainly if not exclusively on the loud piano bits in the first movement. You should probably sort that out.

Not much to say, really. Great textures, great sounds, really interesting material. Nice!

The randomness is how I perceive the situation of someone threading a needle and while watching or having the evening news aired in the background. Many intricacies in that environment.

Performed? I highly doubt it and I don't go into composition with that in mind.

I actually prefer how it is presented.

I do have the notation, but I'm still cleaning it up because Finale reads Reason 2.5 questionably.

Thank you kindly for listening as well as replying...

Sorry...I have my reasons.

The thing about this forum is that doesn't anyone simply "listen"?

Why does one need a translator?

If the score is just as important as an MP3....then why should anyone continue to write music?

Clipping? Really? I must check that because I didn't hear anything in the mix.

Thank you....

I'm glad you found it enjoyable...I can't ask for anything more than that from someone other than myself...

The score is the only thing that the musician uses to create the music. It is even more relevant than a simulation. I could listen all I want, but that wouldn't be helpful to you. A musician will not listen to the recording, they will look at the score and interpret your ideas through it.

Your last statement puzzles me. Are you saying that the idea of a score demeans the point of music? This doesn't make sense to me. Just as every great work of literature has been written down in book form, so has every great work of music. Please explain this, because it honestly makes no sense.

That's silly.

This is a piece of electronic music... he wants it to sound exactly as it has been presented, there is no 'interpretation' involved. Musicians should be able to be listeners too.

You don't go to a concert and ask the conductor for the scores to all the music being played do you? Even if it is something that you could study beforehand, the joy of listening is hearing that conductor's interpretation of the music.

First off, if we intend to have our work performed, or even not performed, then absolutely, we need to have it properly notated. It's the blueprint of our work. I don't need to see the blueprint for every house or structure I walk into.

Notation is not equal to the sound production. The bottom line is the sound and the intervals expressed. That's the whole point of writing!

Notation certainly does not demean the music. The listener is doing that if initially they're not simply listening and letting peripheral distraction to get in the way.

After the pleasure of listening and letting the imagination become stimulated, then later on the notation can be analyzed.

Sure this is an electronic piece with two movements. I am presently working on the third and final movement.

When that's completed I need to work on the notation in my spare time. But that's for myself or any possible activity in a non-internet related arena.

I certainly wouldn't hand over the notation to people I have no clue who they are as so many people do here.
