Baroque / Bach-esque Keyboard Invention

Featured Replies

Hi this is my first attempt at a Bachian keyboard invention. Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Very well done! I liked the modulations and the invention-like element as used by Bach.

I would say 2/3rds is Bach with element of Scarlatti, Couperin, and Handel. There are only minor instances of "this piece sounds as if it was composed in 2009" but then again Scarlatti was known to insert 'weird' notes which went against the genre and style of the time.

I would have liked to have heard more invention i.e. canons (possibly episodal like in a fugue), swapping over of parts, and then played with fragments of the theme. But apart from that, it could be a discovered lost piece of Mr Bach or possibly one of his many many sons.

Delightful!

Haha, wonderful. Listening to that put a smile on my face :)

this is really delightful!

I really liked it, bad it was this short.
