Are you a fan of Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Altaria and the like?

Because it most definately would fit that kind of sound.

and I am really impressed.

I can just hear words over this and it would be a very "epic" song (quite literally, considering that is the term usually used to describe the genre)

Aside from my bias against sweet picking, I really enjoyed the guitar solo, I'm impressed with the entire thing honestly.

As mentioned before, the chord progressions were nothing new and spectacular, but regarldess it was a good, very solid, tune.

Well I did really dig the bands you mentioned back in my metalhead teenage days. So when I finally got into composing (not just playing an instrument) I thought why not try something like that for myself. But the real influence on this one is really Nightwish's composer Tuomas Holopainen, who even now has a pretty big influence on me, not so much trough composition, but the way he approaches music and life generally.

Thanks for the feedback, I really thought this thing was long buried somewhere in 16th page of the thread :)

i really enjoyed it. it could be turned into a great power metal song. right now it sound like it would make for a cool soundtrack.

Really, really good... this actually rocks...a few critiques for you:

use a few more chord progressions,, you use your opening idea on piano far too often, try to vary it a bit, even modulate it into a new key or something.

Your guitar solo,,,while it is fast and "amazing" and all, music like this requires something more melodic, something which transcends sweeped arpeggios all the time. that belongs with dragonforce and helloween :D You cant have a sensitive symph rock song and then a crazy solo.

keep it up! :)
