March 3, 200917 yr Hey there, After a while being very busy with my study, I found that I had a spare afternoon. After listening to all sorts of music I got a little bit of inspiration. I got to my piano and laptop and started working... It wasn't really coming out the way I wanted so after two hours I stopped and started drinking beer with some friends. That went on for quite some time and when I got home the sun was already coming up. But then... when I opened my front door I got a little spark of inspiration. There was a melody! The first thing I did was stumbling to my laptop to put it on (well... in fact not really the first thing I did, of course I made a pit stop at the toilet first :P) After half an hour (very very long...) I finally got my piano connected to my laptop. Then I quickly played the melody I came up with and practically fall asleep on top of my piano. It was about 4 o-clock when I finally got rid of my headache, and after a beer or two I was able to finish the song. So here it is: Propitiation Of course I know it's rather short and maybe not that original, but I felt really good making it and afterwards listening to it. Hope you share my enthusiasm or otherwise come up with some good critics why not! Hope to hear from you! Greets, Chris
March 3, 200917 yr Yeah, it's a fun little piece, and I detect that its inspiration wasn't from a classical background - it has an element of classical pop to it methinks. I like the intro then the 'varations' over a ground bass followed by the intro again. It sorts of binds the whole piece. I would have liked to hard heard a little more development in the middle, but this would have made the piece a little longer, which isn't a problem. I heard some tuned timpani in there...
March 4, 200917 yr Author You detected right! Normally I'm not so fond of classical themed songs, but I wanted to try something else. I'll look into the middle section, although I found it pretty hard to keep it classical. I'm more a funky, grooving kind of musician. But thanks very much for the review!

Just re-read my post. Maybe I was typing too quickly and clicked the Submit Reply button too quickly...
