Piano Prelude in D major

Featured Replies

This was originally written for the YC 24 preludes game. I actually found a performer who would play it, yay me! So it will get played live... and sound better than the midi!

Enjoy

Great work Morgri - the 32nd quintuplets work!

I really enjoyed this piece. I think it will sound really good with a live pianist so they can add some rubato to those runs. Great job

Albeit somewhat weird, this was a very interesting composition. It sounded very dreamy and elusive, if you will. Measure 16 actually made me laugh, just because it seemed a little prolonged.

Some of the pedal markings might need to be adjusted slightly, I'm not convinced that the pianist who performs the piece will follow them strictly, particularly in bars 8 and 18. Bar 16 doesn't really need any pedal markings, as it's just single chords being held, followed by a rest. Also, because you've marked 'cantabile' at the beginning of the piece, you don't really need to have seperate dynamic markings for the left and right hands (bar 18, for example).

The pianist will most likely take all of this into consideration anyway, so it's just a minor item with regards to the notation and composition. I look forward to hearing it anyway!

updated score with, corrected pedal markings as well as a little bit of a different ending... I think this works out much better. Angushay, I'm sure they won't follow the pedal markings correctly, as I don't follow them correctly either, however, I notated the pedal markings anyway as a guide of how I wanted them to pedal. Thanks a lot for your suggestions and comments!

(Mael, I took one of your suggestions, see if you can find it =p)
