Question concerning Finale.......

Featured Replies

I have Finale 2005

If I am writing a piece and I have it set for

whole tone at 90....Can I alter that anywhere in the piece for a quarter

tone at 90?

Thank you.........

look up in the help file: tempo, tempo settings, speed.

you should have this basic information at your fingertips while using Finale, without having to resort to waiting for an answer on a forum.

Do you actually think that this is the only option you think I have?

I did go into Finale and I did figure it out myself. However, one never knows when going into the Finale help section and it just might be a good idea to post a question here to create another option.

Do you use Finale? Because if you do and did not extend any help, I think that's pretty ridiculous as well as selfish!

Thank you....

Actually, ridiculous and selfish is asking for an instant answer to a basic question.

Tempo changes are a basic issue with most notation programs.

Yes, I've been using Finale for nearly 18 years. And the funny thing is, I've never EVER felt the need to ask anyone else how to make an expression to change tempo. Strangely enough, it was there, in the help file, exactly where the makers of Finale put it.

Finale existed in 1988! The longest existing major notation program. Sibby existed since 1995.

And yet, Sibby's better.

Alas, 'tis not.

Ehm... Finale existed in 1991?? :O

Yes! And I've been one of its early users in Germany. But after 10 years of frustration I gave up Finale and converted to become a Sibelius user

lol.. I was 4 yrs old in 1991... didn't see my first computer until I was 10... and you guys were composing and that time... seems kind of weird just thinking about it.

and you guys were composing and that time

Woah! Mozart died 150 years before I was born! And he was composing?! Without finale?!?!?
