Ring of Saturn

Featured Replies

Hello all

This is one of my electronic compositions I did last year. Not very complicated. Smooth ambient piece, plenty of background pads.

Hi all

Btw. I would be grateful for any comments on my tracks :)

Thanks

Like the atmospheres you created here.

The strong element of the drums against the delicate woodwinds is very nice.

Have you considered developing it further?

I like this piece however

I feel that it really doesn't seem like you are utilizing the use of being electronic. Almost all the instruments I hear are instruments that you could just find acoustically. In fact I think it would sound even better if done acoustically instead.

But that's just me

actually not. I did not think to develope it further. Honestly i just wanted to try my new synth, and after it was done I though it is a nice tune ;)

Thanks for comment plutocat, however what is your definition of being electronic. For me electronic composition can be anything that cannot be recreated (performed) with an acoustic or electro-acoustic instrument.

In this case nearly all the electronic music can be acoustically.

You can play a real drum kit instead of 909 drum loop, you can play string ensemble instead of ambient pad .... and I can give thousands examples more.

That's not the way it goes i think

If you play a classical piece for piano using harsh moog patch with various effects applied will you still classify it as a classical piece?

Amazing. This is so good, that I thought you minght be Jeremy Soule for a second!

Ha, but anyway, I really liked it, and I'm not joking about the Jeremy Soule comment...

What he is saying is that it sounds too much like a harp and a string ensemble.. then a flute.. your synth sounds sound too much like real instruments..

Really, it sounds nice.. but I think i have to agree with him.

Yes I see no very much activity in this section of YC, I hope the new reviewers may change that.

............

About the piece in question I thing is very good, very much for meditation.

The name is "Rings of Saturn" or "Gardens of cirodi".

The file I heard (gardens_of_cirodil.mp3) is suddenly cutted at 2:01, is that ok ?
