Dreamless (insomnia insanity)

Well, here is a short track I made last night, I couldn't sleep, so I had to find something to focus on.

Please don't mind the occasional clipping and bad production, it was all done with a keyboard at 4 am :D

I'm gonna do a proper remake of it soon.

Broken link :/

I changed it, try it now. Altho' the first one worked for me also...

U need to wait a bit till the song loads.

Edit: When I tried it in explorer it wouldnt work for me neither. Try other browser.

Very nice. For me, the opening bars built up tension quite well, but some of it was lost when it changed pulse very briefly. After listening to the opening a few times and knowing what's coming up, however, it doesn't lose as much. It might be better either to keep the pulse for that brief moment, or do away with it altogether, while keeping the rest of the piece the same.

I liked the section starting 0:56, it provided some nice variation.

The atmosphere is great throughout, probably mainly due to the instrument with the tune; it really filled me with a sense of not being able to sleep - which is something I can relate to, as it can take me anywhere from half an hour to two hours to go to sleep at night normally.

Great work!

Great work!

Thanks for listening Stew! I appreciate the critics ;)

Cheers!

Well it is very simple, but together decently. It definitely needs a better mix.

Now put some work into it and fix it up.

I'm enjoying this because honestly, I love hearing people express themselves. But for my tastes, it relies too much on what became a cliche' long ago--a few minor chords and a drum machine rhythm. You can add voices, a soaring guitar solo, or any number of things to liven it up but in the end it's still a little too simple harmonically to really capture my imagination.

Quantize the parts or re-record them.

Yeah, I know what are you saying, I just made this to basically don't forget the idea, it was done in about 45 mins :D

Thanks for your comments!
