The Synch - A Unique Style

Featured Replies

Here is a work of art that I put together in about 5 hours. It is a unique Style, so don't judge it by saying it sounds like nothing that is similar to the Pop-Art of today. This has it's own way of progressing through the work.

Due to the Maryland Board of Music Education restrictions as of now, the Score information will not be made available until later on. Once I have the master copies back into my hand, I will post the scores in PDF format.

This is in MIDI Format, and I hope you enjoy.

Tell me what you think and give me comments.

This is a copyrighted piece, you may only view and listen to it. This is not released under the GPU/GPL license. Enjoy!

Does anyone have anything to say about it? Even negative compliments? I like to hear about my pieces for improvment ideas. What do you think of the style?

well, I found nothing particularly "unique" about it. It was formless and random. the instrumental writing was dull, the harmony was non-existant (ie: there was absolutely no sense that there was any harmony leading from point A to point B, regardless of whether it was tonal or not), it was overly repetitive (despite its randomness).

5 hours isn't very long to spend on a piece of music. and it sounds it.

OK, I'll start the ball rolling.

To be frank, not my cup of tea for a couple of reasons. I know it's very very easy to criticise someone else's work, especially when piling on the negative comments.

This will sound harsh, but I felt the piece had no structure. I am not keen on modern (avant-guarde, atonal, call it what you wish) stuff anyway, but I can see that modern pieces have a style, a structure. This one didn't seem too, or maybe I couldn't hear it. I thought at first it sounded like a computer playing music based on a mathematical equation, but I then decided the notes sounded pretty random.

Yes, definitely a unique style. Not convinced it's one I like...

it seems really, really long for the minimal amount of musical ideas... if you could cut the fat and bring it down to a minute or two, it might be easier to listen to. Have you studied a lot of other music? Beethoven, Bartok, and Ligeti are great when it comes to proportions...

well i like his name . It look like Brandon routh which i love him mostly

What I really like, and I have to be honest, i am totally amazed by your arrogance and self-confidence in your supreme art form. It's quite startling and a beacon for those who wish to follow in the footsteps of uniqueness driven by being formless.

well , i still like his name

Brandon ,,^^

I don't like it. It's too unique.
