Hi

rather humorous post, i am still not sure if this is real, that you can actually compose without writing anything down until you got it in your head, definitely with a great piece like this...?

i definitely agree on that approach, notes are like reading a book-not like watching a movie, or hearing, it is imagination before the materialization.

only that you have to be such a mean techno dude to be able to hear it and write it precisely-and not lose any of the notes in the process of writing-you have to be very quick, and therefore very proficient-which takes long years to master, i don't know which composer that used to write whole sonatas during his travels in the train.

The way I write is that the main themes pops into my head all of a sudden, usually on the way to a class and i have to hurry and write it down when I get to class, but yeah, the main theme is usually in my head. Then, when I play that theme back in sibelius, I usually hear some counter melody and percussion parts go along with it. Everytime I try making up a melody on a piano, I just forget it 3 seconds later, so there is really no point to me.

yeah i know this dude, mean in flamenco jazz and fusion , i wonder if he actually wrote each part for the orchestra, 4:40 is beautiful.

its a very different groove, that comes from gypsies and bulls not from the dark continent.
