worked pretty hard, alot of "debugging", are there any masters here that can write lines without the "debugging" ?

Not sure what you mean by "debugging" exactly.

the score is too small, can't read it...

i've fixed it.

how many notes i got right?

what i meant by debugging, is by fixing what is a mistake, bad notes, bad composition to make the piece better and more "correct".

i can create a song pretty quick if i know the changes and the scales, but in counterpoint thinking every note is a "chord"/part of harmony which is way too quick to make it in a single one take...

Ummm, All of them?

are you sure? i think on the second page i got quite a few mistakes and non harmonic notes..thanks for listening by the way.

First off who is suppose to sing this? And is this the score you intend to place in front of performers?

What I was saying is that I'm not sure what you are saying...if it sounds right to you and the notes are exactly how you want them, then yes, your notes are right. We can make suggestions on how to make your piece a little stronger...but ultimately it's all about what YOU want. I don't see any lyrics, so I'm not sure what you want the choir to sing. The notes seem awfully low in the women's range. I don't know what kind of group you are composing for. You need to specify such things. Non-harmonic notes are fine, they give a piece interest. What I think we're all thinking is that you need to complete it more...it seems like an unfinished work, rather than a fully completed one.

of course, i'm stupid, what else is new?

this is an exercise in writing chorals but just in the harmonic sense, no one is singing this horror. i was trying to follow the baroque technique in this composition, i was showing the score because i you know much more than me in this style.

unfortunately my notation program sux...i will try to take some adagio melody and harmonize it..

You aren't stupid, not at all...I actually liked some of the things you did in the piece. I can see the baroque elements you were trying to go for, and it's a noble first attempt at a chorale. I would look at the bach chorales for inspiration if you really want to get into this style. It was a good exercise...keep working.

I do believe a lot of the confusion here was that you've been saying "choral" when you mean "chorale," which is the style you're composing in (as opposed to, an adjective describing music written for a choir).

That said, if this isn't written for voice (that is, for singers), then it probably shouldn't be in this particular subforum. In any case, it should be written for clearly defined voices, and the staves should be arranged from highest voice to lowest voice, to make the score easier to read. That's part of the idea of chorales, is that they're written for distinct voices and don't just go all over the place. (That's why voice crossing is "against the rules"; because it takes away the individuality of the voices.) And you said that "no one is singing this horror"; if you're trying to write a traditional chorale, then this is not a good approach. A huuuuge part of the style is the idea that chorales are melodic and singable, therefore any exercise in the style should be singable as well. This is where the emphasis on consonance, small leaps, and stepwise motion comes in.

There are so many ledger lines in the top part that you should probably change the clef, and some of the rhythmic notation is just unnecessary and confusing (I feel like the dotted eighth + sixteen rest should just be a quarter, possibly stacatto). What you've posted now is generally really hard to read; I'd be happy to give you feedback from a cleaner score. (I'm not very good about checking back to threads, so if you write an easier-to-read score, send me a PM and I'll take a look at it.)

yeah, you probably get a good notation software, or a scorewriter, or whatever you call it. your soprano is on the 3rd staff if i'm right. i can't give any comment as of this moment. hehe. i can't see the score - to small for my bad eyes. good luck. ;)
