Hansen
I was thinking it would be fun to see how you guys can do with composing atonal music.DEAD-LINE JUNE:8th Rules: 1.It can be in free or strict, but it must be specified. 2.It should be between 2-7 minutes long 3.Ensemble from as little as a quartet to full symphonic band 4.Any tempo you wish 5.Must be atonal. ------------------------- We also need 3 judges Well, there's an easy way to follow the rules. Just take two dices, throw them often enough for all the parameters you wish, and finally you're done with an aleatoric piece! Would this be acceptable? Alteatoric =/= atonal atonal =/= aleatoric I mean, you could be using a chance process on a diatonic set with parameters which keeps a particular pitch in each roll or something. Please don't pay attention to what the YC Wiki says about atonality as it is wrong. Please read consult these books and sites... Serialism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Schoenberg, Arnold. 1975.
