Trio for Flute, Violin and Cello "Reveille"

Featured Replies

This is the first post I have put up on this site in a while. I hopefully have improved over the last time I posted.

This piece was written over the course of a week, by hand. I am accustom to writing on a computer, so this was a new experience. I did not changed it in any major fashion from that original version. The edits I did make were few, and mainly concerning my ability to still confuse a low "a" and "g" on bass clef.

The title (Reveille) comes from the music festival/camp I was at while I wrote this.

All I can produce at this moment is a Finale file, I hope to put up other means of hearing this soon.

I took the liberty of making a MP3 and pdf:

Pdf: Finale 2007 - [Trio van JCWTM91].pdf - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage

As for the piece I thoughed it was very enjoyable. I like the loose admosphere you created. The counterpoint writing was good, which means I liked the way the voices interacted. Lovely melodies. Harmonicly it was bit under developted given the lenght of the piece. Maybe it could use some adventure. But i enjoyed it and to me that's all that exctualy matters.

Thanks for doing that for me. I have been away from the computer for a while and would have not gotten to it anytime soon.

I hope everyone else has found it helpful.

I enjoyed it too. And yes, as gijs said using some adventures to present some of the material in a new harmonic structures would be lovely.

Will there be a 2nd and a 3rd part? That would be nice :)
