Clarinet Quintet

Featured Replies

This is a piece I wrote a while ago. It is fairly self explanatory. I feel that it is one of my better works. An adapted version of it was play by a group of high school students, but with very short notice.

Welcome to YC.

Can you post a link to a mp3?

Ron

Great stuff. I couldn't help but feel it ended so suddenly. I mean, at mm. 39, you build up, and I was expecting some sort of climax, but you went back to the A section. Great work otherwise. It was playful, almost like Mozart, and the orchestration was appreciative to the clarinet solo.

Very enjoyable! I look forward to hearing more from you soon!

Not everyone has Finale

Ok, it took a little bit a effort to get my versions of finale to line up, but here is a midi file. I hope this makes the piece more accessible. I will see what I can do about a pdf in the near future.

Thanks for all the comments on this piece.

And here is the file, which I forgot to upload on the last post.

If you have finale, can't you make a MP3?

the piece is enough

good but there are some things to review:

for esemple in the 6

I really enjoyed listening to this piece and would love to play it :-P. I wouldn't mind it being a little longer but meh.

I think there is some good material in this piece, but I felt it was far too short. I have nothing against quickly changing character in a piece, but I don't think you stayed in these "characters" long enough for them to establish themselves and make a convincing statement. Of course it's your piece and I'm sure you have your own view about structure in a composition. I personally feel that each idea should be more fleshed out and developed.

Thank you for not making the clarinet part impossible.

There are many a composer that makes the clarient part so @$%#@ high that no one can even think of playing that. Really good piece.
