Horrible Problem - Finale 2006

Featured Replies

I just got Finale 2006 yesterday and was greeted with a horrible problem. It worked fine for about twenty minutes, but when i was tryin to get it hooked up with my keyboard, i was messing with Midi inputs and outputs, and then all of a sudden my "SoftSynth Settings" Output Source is stuck on "Modem #0 Line Playback" and it won't let me change it. Everytime i try to do anything on it, Finale crashes now, and I have no audio. I've tried reinstalling the whole thing, it didn't work. CAN ANYONE HELP PLEEEEASE?!? I would be oh so grateful.

i fixed it though, it just randomly went back to normal after like 10 hours of messing with it. i have no idea what i did. never touchin that dialogue box again

i messed with something once and all my audio output started going through my modem, but that was just user error :P

Good to know it's back to normal. If it happens again, the first thing is to try restarting the computer. Then in Windows before starting Finale, go to the Start button -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices and see what is selected for the playback device. Finale gets its setting from here. If it's already set correctly there, try Finale. If you still have the problem, it's time to contact customer support. They might suggest downloading updated drivers for your sound card (which frequently helps other weird sound problems).
