The Run - orchestral and electronic

Featured Replies

Here is a cue I did today...it's a cover theme from Duke Nukem game... badly mixed... but... I hope you'll get the point ;)

I love all the electronic stuff, its full of texture and quite exciting. Could imagine this as the music to some sort of action setpiece in a videogame or something.

Sounds exactly like 'Stalker' from Duke Nukem 3d. I'm assuming that you didn't just take the midi and run it through some midi2mp3 converter, because it's almost identical.

If you didn't, nice mix! I quite like the drum sounds, they really fit the piece.

Hmm... I looked it up and it does sound almost exactly the same; melody and all. Was this suppose to be a remix? Nonetheless, it is a nice arrangement and it would work as incidental music.

yo phant, i like the new vibe! very cool atmosphere, the drum sample are great(which are they?), i'd say you got some meat to work with here.

if you're into it, find something to strengthen the middle part, the synth entrance is a bit weak i think, and actually the guitar synths that comes later are great.

i dont know if orchestral is the correct term for this kind of theme, but "the run" it is definitely.

thanks for sharing this, i think i heard a little of you :)

yes, it is a cover, except, i did it by ear, i sometimes take something and cover it for practice of ear and orchestration skills. that being said, this one is pretty lame, it has 4 tones alltogether

I did what a number of others did and failed to see "cover" in your post. I listened to this and then went and found the original and became convinced that I would have to delete your post and send you a nasty PM saying don't pass off others music as your own.

Thankfully before I did that, I reread your post and saw the word "cover".

This is a very good cover that uses some very nice instrumentation and is excellent for doing "by ear".

I will give you something to think about.

It is common courtesy when doing a "cover" of someone else's music, to name the composer or at least where the music comes from. Always give credit where credit is due. Think of someone doing your music and not giving you credit. An acknowledgement of someone's work is always the moral thing to do.

I suggest that you edit your first post and add the composer's name. It is the right thing to do.

I wrote all of that in hopes that others would read it. Not to attack you in anyway.

yes, sorry for that, I'm totally aware of this Ron, but unfortunately I just had this song on my computer, and it had no name, it came from a incidental cd I got from a friend, I was kind of hoping someone will point out who did this since I really liked it and didn't know who was the composer. Anyway, I edited my post with what I know now.
