New in town

Featured Replies

Hello to everyone.

I am new in here. I have never spoken to people that are not from my country, about my works. I did spend a few days listening to other people's creations.

I would love an opinion on my music (hopefully a good one).

it's 2 demos that I have written for my website.

Hope you like it.

Welcome to YC.

I am listening to Romania for the third time and really like it.

Just one suggestion on it. The violin could use a little more reverb at the beginning. It sounds just a little out of place compared to the rest of the instruments.

What is Greem?

I thought at first that you had just misspelled green, but I don't think that is the case.

Both of these are very cinematic and should probably be posted in Incidental music instead of Orchestral. Both of these would work well in games and/or movies.

I see that you have posted in other's threads. That always helps to get people to return the favor.

Greem is a character. no misspelling there. :)

Full name: "the Contract of greem"

Regarding Romanina (full name: A day in Romania), you are probably right, although at 1st I actually thought it's nicer and more intimate this way. However, since you are one of few people who told me to add more reverb to the Violin, I guess I was wrong.

I wasn't sure where to put my 1st thread. I'll add some more music in a new thread in Incidental music.

Thank you!

Ricardo Gidon.

Congratulations on two excellent pieces! I really enjoy these, and I do believe that they belong in the Incidental music thread instead. Anyway, I thought both of these were really enjoyable to listen to. In Greem, there is no melody between 1:01 and 1:15, just low strings pounding downbeats. I would have like to see the melody started a little earlier, or have the chords change to cause anticipation, or use syncopation. These are just my opinons. You are the composer, and you are in charge of your music. Well Done, Mate!

Ryan

Very cool. :)

Ricardo

I have moved your thread here to incidental since you agree that it is more appropriate here.

Thanks! :)

I think someone was inspired by something they heard here!

Chord changes in the 2nd piece are very nice indeed. I love remote key changes (within reason, so long as they follow some kind of 'rule').

I prefered the 2nd piece overall, but the 1st piece had a Schindler's List feel to it I felt.

Pretty good stuff.

The "Day in Romania" was actually a piece I composed in order to see if I can do music for a movie. unfortunately it wasn't what they were looking for.

So now it's a demo in my website. :)

Very nice epic piece with Greem. I loved listening to it, nice march style to it.

Romania is nice, nice dynamic arrangement and change of mood.

I like the ending a lot.

Greem has also nice mood and melodies. I would love to hear it with a real orchestra, because you can definitely hear it's created on the computer. But I still enjoy the melodies and arrangement a whole lot.
