This has been happening only recently as far as I can remember... Finale 2008 won't do a mid measure clef, not matter what! I'm sure it was working fine before they asked me to update it to finale 2008a. What should I do?

Upgrade to 2010.

Hm, I'm using Finale 2008 too, and it works just fine.

Either use the clef tool to select the part of the measure you want the clef to apply to then doubleclick on the selected part and select the clef (or right click, then choose the corresponding menu option).

Or select the part of the measure with the selection tool, then right click and pick "clef".

Maybe just reinstall Finale?

P.S. I'm using a Mac, so some things might be slightly different on Windows.

Use the SELECTION tool to select the part of the measure you want the clef to apply to then right-click and select the clef.
