You Don't Notice (MIDI Instrumental)

Gee, I hope I'm submitting this in the right place :veryunsure:. This pop 6/8 ballad is from 2007. This version is a template for the final version (created for an electronic music class). I eventually omitted a few elements for the final version (which has vocals). My teacher never gave an indepth critique. So, please feel free! :)

nice.. chillout.. some nice part writing in places...the pre chorus (I think thats what you intended it to be), with the flute and piano in particular. but..it was exactly what i was expecting.. innovate man,, innovate!! youre well able! some messy melodies in the chorus,, sounds a little odd...cool use of 7 chords to add tension. good use of strings,, i spotted a few parallel fifths, but as a composer i honestly dont care about that,,,i cant see why people have problems with them. good work,, you should be proud! perhaps a little work on the structure would go well.. from the chorus to the verse about halfway in sounds very copied and pasted,, bad transition. other than that... a commendable effort! :)

RE Parallel fifths: Well in pieces with four or less parts, it takes out some of the harmony that you could have.

As far as the piece goes, it was decent for a pop song. The bridge had a few rhythmic anomalies, but it was different. Good job.

Thank you so much for listening and for your critique. A lot of what you noticed I had no idea about, and it was very helpful. I will keep your observations in mind for future pieces, and if I decide to rework this piece. Thank you again! :)
