Short piano piece

I'm completely new to composing but some old video game soundtrack inspired me and I decided to give it a shot. This very short piano piece is actually just a combination of some ideas that came to me last night so I don't expect it to be good. Just want to hear what you guys think. The sound is computer-generated since I don't play piano (but guitar).

I'm new here, so take what I say with a grain of salt. I want to say I enjoyed your piece, but it really should have been more developed! Not simply length wise, but melodically. You have some good ideas, but they seem quite disjointed. I didn't really sense that were was much reference to older melodies in the piece, and really the only similarity between them is style. I would think in a piece like this a sense of familiarity is important, and that's something I would suggest could be improved upon.

I don't know how exactly to improve this either, but I didn't know the end was coming. Sometimes that's really cool or appropriate, but with this piece it just felt unsatisfying. Maybe a ritardando could help, or simply a restatement of the original melody.

Oh, and add dynamics. ;)

Well, I never liked Final Fantasy that much (as a game)... :(

I know that this "piece" that I uploaded is undeveloped and lacks some important musical elements, but it was never meant to be anything serious. Just wanted to see if you're gonna like it even a bit.

Well done. Sounds like a nice short piece. I'm in the same boat, writing a lot of short pieces (it is easy). Recently, I did a three minute piece.

For a "prelude" or part of another piece, it sounded fine. Even with short pieces, I try add more of a contrast in there. Or write two more "movements" to go along with this.
