opera aria - in progress

Featured Replies

i posted this in the lyrics forum so i hope the website administrator does not get angry that i post about it in here too. i'm writing an opera based on the metamorphosis by franz kafka and this is his big tenor aria in the first act or at least the words to it. i dunno what the rest of it is gonna be yet but i added characters, in my opera gregor samsa is in love with a girl named carol but he can not express his undying love because he is now a bug who can not get out of bed. so in the opera gregor as a bug will be singing this opera aria.

the pain of my heart

my bosom weeps

for your touch

how long: a lasting grasp onto the edge of life's cliff,

never lead me astray from their love.

the sound of your voice piques me like;

the harrowing tale of the crocodile crow keeps calling carol...

carol...

carol...

what do you think so far?

Quality of English is important. When posting on YC you are asked to use quality writing, ensuring proper use of spelling and grammar. Abbreviations such as “ur” in the place of “your”, or “u” in the place of “you” are not permissible. Include apostrophes and capitalize where necessary (e.g. “I’m”, not “im”). Excessive usage of acronyms such as “lol”, “lmao”, and “rofl” is frowned upon and a post containing an acronym alone will be considered a spam message and will be immediately deleted.

Then list some ideas!

Okay, you got some characters, a story, and you're going to have an aria.

So far so good, my friend.

Music is the main topic here in YC, ... if you want opinions about text, and poetry, ... there are only a few members that would post you useful information.

I came here months ago to ask help to write an opera libretto, and ..... well that's why I tell you this

Hm. I don't know if there's an operatic adaptation of "The Metamorphosis" yet, but I do know that there are two adaptations of "The Trial" - most recently by Poul Ruders for the Copenhagen Royal Theater. You might listen to those operas to gain some "feedback" or "counterpoint" to your own ideas.

Also - I write both operas and librettos - so I will help you out if you like. However, I suggest working through a full draft of the libretto, rather than working scene to scene. It'll help you form a whole picture.

Really ? ..I need help on that, there is a guy who is "going to" help me but he may be busy or something because he has done nothing ...

take a look at this thread: (Read the first post)

Don't post if you don't want to, and ignore the other things happened there, (was my first thread) ....

just if you think you can do it, and you want to do it, ... send me a PM, ... I'll give you details .... if not, ... thanks anyway.
