August 23, 200917 yr I have already posted The Leonids and The Orionids, so here are the Perseids Ronald (rolifer) Ferguson's Page - Composer's Forum Also here The Perseids This piece uses GPO 4 and the guitar is from JABB. The piece was composed in Sonar 8 PE so the score is not pretty, but here it is The Perseids.pdf - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage
August 23, 200917 yr Ron, Wow, a definite feeling of space, grandeur, and suspension. Very evocative writing. Extremely visual in a sense. Also, beautiful lines; not necessarily only melodies, but flowing waves of tonality - awesome. Nice, love that guitar. Great idea Ron! Great use of solo and group voices; especially the cello lines. You seem a bit more tonal; triadic maybe?, ...in a way then other works. An unmistakable "Ron-ian" work with chromatic gestures, but also still new and different. Great job Ron! M

August 24, 200917 yr Author Michael Me tonal???? Yeah from time to time I do play around in that medium and yes this one is full of triads. That guitar is from JABB. That was my first library outside of Sibelius and helped to begin my journey. Now I wonder where it came from??? Thanks again. Sherief Ditto Thanks again guys Ron
August 24, 200917 yr I like "Triad Ron." Which, personally, I can't get enough of triads and layers in my music. I enjoyed listening to this. The guitar was a nice touch too.
August 25, 200917 yr Ron- You have very nice ideas, I like them a lot. But it never goes anywhere... it's the same throughout, and that can loose your attention.
August 25, 200917 yr Author Alex I just started a new one tonight that is full of triads. Only none of them are tonal. Don't know if it will go anywhere, but it is a nice change of pace. Heckel This piece doesn't go anywhere by design. It is a study of a 7 note motif. Granted the motif is played and varied about as far as it could be taken without becoming too boring, but I had fun with it. Fortunately I compose for my enjoyment and because I like to hear a certain style and this piece is not too long that I lose attention. Thanks guys Ron
August 26, 200917 yr the Idea of getting nowhere fits with my experience to watch stars. Like a structural repesentation of infinity. Like that. The harmonies tend to be ostinate, but that will be the result off working with you 7 note theme. In the score is saw some strange low notes, I guess GPO keyswitches? ;)
August 28, 200917 yr Author JC All of those weird notes are exactly what you said. Keyswitched instruments are nice in that you don't have to load a lot of articulations, but those notes are a pain to keep entering in. They always seem to want to be on top of another note so they can be a pain. Thanks Ron
August 28, 200917 yr It's very awesome. Interesting harmonies and nice dynamic arrangement. Very cool atmosphere as usual.. Refreshing.
August 31, 200917 yr Author Thanks Nicolai I'm glad you made the journey over here to this part of the forum to listen. Ron
