new GPO4 is out!

I saw the new GPO version 4 is out and want to buy it.

I am curious about your experiences. especially compared with the garritan sound that came along with finale 2009.

I'm not going to bother upgrading until they have the ARIA player available on the JABB and COMB libraries as well, since there are sounds I need from those libraries that aren't available in GPO.

Anyone else even bought a full GPO. I also want to compare it with the lite version that came with Finale. Is for example GPO3 better than the finale sounds? (then I hope version 4 is even beter:D )

I use GPO 4. The new Aria engine is tons better than the old Kontakt player. It uses less CPU and is more intuitive. GPO 4 also comes with a number of Sam's brass instruments which are very nice.

With Fin2009 came the Aria player, so I'm familiar with it, and its intuitive indeed. How is the Sambrass compared to the lite brass? I found the brass week, and not edgy enough. Only soft horns for example and no mutes. does GPO4 has that?

I'm glad to hear the engine is better .....

but what about in Sibelius ? ... anyone has GPO4 in Sibelius ? ..

are there soundset problems ?

does sibelius save the config if that "Aria" of have the way to save if from there ?

does it finally have percussion that could work as percussion as Anvil, Brake Drum, Whip, windmachine, and the Tam-tams how good are they ?

is there a Bass Oboe / Heckelphone or something to play low notes in oboe-like timbre ?

If you have questions about GPO 4, they do have their own site with lots of knowledgable guys. Most questions have already been asked and answered on their site (northernsounds).

If you had the Kontakt version of GPO (the full version), then the only difference is the addition of the Sam's Brass abd the choir. The rest of the samples are the same. But the engine alone is worth the upgrade.

The old brass instruments are still there, along with the new ones from SAm's Brass. Sam's Brass samples are near the top of the line when it comes to brass and I am very happy with them. There are not a ton of articulations like you would find in the full version of SAm's, but your not paying that price either.

I Believe that Sibelius would save the settings in the aria Player, but I am not sure about that. But you can save the setting thru the aria player itself, so that shouldn't be a problem. I know that Sonar saves all the aria settings.
