Favorite pieces on the site?

I've been looking through a bunch of threads, and almost everytime I click on one and listen to the music I'm dissapointed.

Give me some suggestions for good pieces by members on here.

I listened to it AGES ago--

Hymnspaces violin concerto. Go search for it lazypants.

Tell me if it is as good as me listening to it years ago.

Max Castillo's "Psalms" for string orchestra was great, in the large ensemble section.

Sebastian's "Fundamental Forces of Our Universe" for piano was sick.

And of course, calebhugo's brilliant "Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Band".

Check out the YC AWARDS from 2007 and 2008. They all won for a reason. ;)

Maybe because this is mostly a site for amateurs?

This, and Hymnspace's The Chamber, String Quartet No. 2, and Detox, and nikolas's My loving Life are my favorites.

Yes. Hymnspace is pretty good.

I like Morivou's "i will wade out / hope faith life love" and Steven Tonato's "Pie Jesu". Check those out.

And Nothing Gold Can Stay by Matt Wetmore (Dev). That's another good one too.

I can't think of any off the top of my head, expect for Max's "Psalm".

We should have a wall of fame sticky in major works or something.

Qc's stuff wasn't always to my taste but it was some of the best crafted stuff I have heard here and outside YC

I'd prefer a review of most impoved composer anyway ... this is all so subjective ...

Voce, in your first post you don't mention anything about particular kinds of music you just say "by members on here" so I will suggest a few ones from a section nobody seems to remember .... Electronic.

SYS - I agree some real gems in Electronic music. If you saw my post I love the concerto for electronics.

SYS - Just hearing one of your 3 pieces, very reminiscent of film/video genre. Not entirely my cup of tea but sounds good. Thanks for sharing and forgive me if I have not commented on your pieces (just so many here!!!!!)
