Searching for a base.

Hey, YC!

After taking some time today to listen to some of your most recent compositions here on Young Composers, I've decided that one of the things I'd like to do is write a few pieces based on some set of related things, as accomplished through Carnival of the Animals, The Planets, etc. However, I can't seem to get any original ideas on what I should write about! Have any of you got some?

Each island in the Caribbean has a different culture, you could do some research and each movement could represent a different island. You could also do it as countries, like a world tour or something.

If you can't think of an idea for such music, maybe you should try a different one. It's your art; having a random starting point might be less effective than one that actually means something to you.

change perspective. Create something as if it were from another world. Giant space hamsters that have to battle the 7th dimensional sludge monkeys in a series of court cases.
