SimenN - Gott ist mein K

Very stirring Cantata in the Baroque style. Very nice. Really cant say much on the piece aside from that I hope to hear it performed by life musicians one day.

Wow, this is excellent work! :)

I love the ever flowing sound, and you did an excellent job using polyphony for each instrument and vocal.

How long did it take you to make this?

Are you German? Why is this in German?

This very nice, pure baroque, thanks for posting!

I like the Baroque feeling , very nice work

Beautiful work! I cannot WAIT to hear the rest. You write some of the most WONDERFUL music, Simen.

Hey.

I have two tips:

About the text "von" (ms 14, and others in the fugue), do yu really want vohohon. I dont think a melisma can have the same note in it. I should remove the repeated D (in ms 14); the fugue theme is played by the orchestra as well. and will be clear enough. But this can't be sng nice, I think

Second. I hear all kinds of octave paralels. And that is not wrong, except if you are trying to write in a strict baroque contrapuntal language. Ms 3 and 4. I hear Violin 2 and Oboe 1 playing the same notes as the basses. This effect is being even stronger because the Trumpet and Violin 1 play on the 2nd and 5th beat also the same downward scale of D C# B A. I wont do that

Here ends the tips.

I think you should put the orchestal order right: flutes, oboes, trumpet, etc... If I remember correctly the only difference in baroque and other orchestral orders is, the place of the horns and trumpets. The trumpets used to be above the horns, because they were royal instruments. The horns moved upward because they blended better with the woods.

Very Intricate composition. This must of taken some time. Very beautiful and great work with voices.

Is everyone on this site a professional/student musician? Most of this music is beyond me, I wish I could give more feedback then just saying "I loved it" :P
