Hausmannsgt 34 for trb,trp,clar,pia

Featured Replies

Hello fellow composers!

This is a new song i have written for my ensemble.

The work is inspired by a free living artcommunity at hausmannsgt 34.

I have used the riff from arctic monkeys humbug,(can be heard in the exposition). You can also hear a theme from another composition i have made, in major instead of minor after the lyrical second theme.

lovely stuff. as a frequent visitor to oslo and norway, i happen to have attended couple of anarchistic fests in hausmansgt. i really love the spirit there, sad that usually not so many people are around. keep it up and best wishes.

maybe a bit of lower registers would fit here, but since i'm deciding from mp3, maybe it's just a recording.

Very cool. I like the opening with the percussive low-end piano against the trombone and the brass. Ooooh, the dissonance is nice. The contrast between your dissonant opening/close with the majorish middle is cool.

My one gripe is that I can't hear the melody well enough when it's the piano in the middle (right before the whole quartet comes in). I hear a lot of the bass line, but it isn't as interesting. It's probably the problem of the program you used so no worries.
