Backwater Cavern

What up!?

My name is Alex, nice to meet you. I came here for guidance and feedback because I finally want to get serious about becoming a full-fledged composer for video games and other media. I figured the first thing to do would be to build a portfolio. Thus, this song was born.

It's meant to be a looping background for a waterlogged cave of sorts set in a nice sunny archipelago.

I want to apologize a head of time for the mix.. I forgot that computer I use to make music has speakers with a heavy bass boost built in. I have to go back tomorrow and boost the bass tones a bit.

In the mean time I would appreciate some feedback on the structuring and any other thing you may find to be off. Thanks so much.

This new version features less Piccolo, in fact I took it completely out and replaced it with an English Horn because I had received a few complaints on the shrillness of it. I have to say this version is much better in my eyes. Other than that not much else was changed except a bit of stereo enhancing and minor reductions/boosts in the mastering parameters.

This is interesting: has a happy-go-lucky feel to it! :) Relaxing, and pleasant: nice job! (I love the part at about 1:15, haha) It seems like it would really fit a platformer game, like Jak and Daxter or something.
