October 24, 200916 yr Don't exactly have a background story for this other than it was inspired by pokemon music from the video games Diamond and Pearl. The mp3 cracks a bit here and there. I'll fix that sooner or later. What I tried to represent in this is some sort of chase and/or battle going on at night. Comments/feedback appreciated. Haven't been actively viewing this forum for a while now, school interferes. I'll return the favor to the best of my limited composing experience ^.^ Incandescent.mp3 - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage
October 25, 200916 yr This is cool, I can picture a battle with one of the legendary pokemon. I really like the piano, it reminds me of Final Fantasy. My only advice would be to be bold with your brass when it's playing on its own, but that's just my style. :) nice work
October 25, 200916 yr Author Ness- Thank you ^.^ I don't know what my style is yet, although I do favor brass to any other section of the orchestra I am noticing.
October 25, 200916 yr This is really great! I could see this working as music for a boss battle. The arrangement is excellent. The only thing is that is seems kind of muffled, and dry. Could just be the samples though. Maybe just a slight touch of reverb might help, I'm not sure. Great work.
October 25, 200916 yr Author Amana Thank you :D I still need to work on the osund quality of this. I'll see what adding reverb can do.
October 30, 200916 yr Wendell You get better with each composition! Your next step is to do whatever it takes to get your hands on a decent DAW and some better samples. Get a job, rob a bank (JK), but do something to start learning how to mix your music to get a better sound. Go download Reaper and start there. Then pick out a good DAW and start saving for it. I use Sonar and am very happy with it, but there are a lot of good ones out there. Nice work Ron
October 31, 200916 yr Absolutely feels right for a battle. Still, I kind of want more percussion throughout the entire thing; I think that would help add intensity and "epicness". Then again, I'm a percussionist :P
October 31, 200916 yr Author Ice, percussion definitely isn't my strong point. I wanted to add percussion... except... I did not feel how to do it...lol
October 31, 200916 yr Author Ron I downloaded reaper... have no idea how to use it so whenever I get an inspiration for another piece [has been uninspired for the last 3 and a half weeks] I'll play around with it. And I'm saving money for something. Don't know what sample program it is but, something.
