As their were no judges for this competition and it is now February and the original host of the competition hasn't been around for so long. I have been tapped to officiate the results. I must say, I greatly enjoyed listening to all three entries AND the choice for top work was very well thought over.

Mantas Savicki: The heartbeat is a nice touch and I think is the one thing that pieces together this 'psychedellic' nightmare. The high pitch screeches up top (not sure what instrument that is) do have a note to them. But not enough to really disqualify this one. Good work.

Sabian Soldier: I really like this and can clearly see the influence from the Ligeti. Nice that there is no overtly musical connection: no rhythm, no notes, nothing - very good work.

Bachian: 1940: Wow, I am very... VERY impressed with this one. The overall collage is impressive and your usage of the Hitler speech as the underlying unifying material is genius. I'm reminded of some of the 1970's best sound collages. I really think that you have presented here your best work ever posted on this forum. Good work.

So... the results, shall we:

3rd place goes to Mantas: The rhythmic pulse here really is contrary to the idea that was originally presented and is a throwback to traditional musical ideas - even though it is a heartbeat. I do like your ideas - but I felt more originality would've been better.

2nd place goes to Sabian Soldier: Your use of sounds is very good and your overall collage is great. However, originality in idea is what is lacking here. I clearly see the Ligeti influence in this - not that this is a bad thing.

And first place goes to: Bachian!

I really, really felt that Bachian's piece was the most impressive of the three. The lack of traditional musical ideas and purely sounds from different sources greatly enriched the overall sound of the collage. The topic was very powerful and was aided greatly by the underlying sound structures. I honestly felt this to be the best composition produced by Bacchian - which is saying a lot considering his music is good as it is. Good Work! And thanks to all three for posting!

I just listened to all the pieces and I must say that I am impressed by the originality and exploration that you all dove into. I feel that many here are afraid to step outside the box normally and this should show that it is quite possible to produce great materials with new techniques.

Good job Bachian! I must say your piece terrified me :S Good stuff! Thanks also Jawoodruff for judging and posting results, its annoying when competitions like this don't see closure. It was a really fun competition actually, I enjoyed the total freedom of this style of music. Hope to see more in future like this!
