Journey to Another World

Featured Replies

This is a piece I wrote featuring english horn (beginning) and a euphonium solo at the end. The brass are also features as well.

Very strong opening! Again your music is very nicely written. Good orchestration - from what I can hear. I do hope that you share more with us. You'll be more apt to get reviews once you review the work on others here. I've noticed quite a lot of your posts had no reviews till I posted.

It was nice! I liked the fanfare thing both in the beginning and at the end. I missed the use of timpany in that fanfare but it was great that way too. Than came a peaceful/calm section, than a film-music style one with more action, than again a peaceful one and the final fanfare. I liked that contrast.

Thank you so much, both of you! This was written this past Spring. I am terribly sorry I had no timpani. I had to orchestrate this piece for a specific ensemble because it was performed live. The audio wasn't that great though, and the last half of the recording was lost due to having to change film. So I decided to share only the electronic version. Thank you for your comments. I think it is funny, Norby, how you touch on the two most sentimental elements to me, orchestration and contrast. It's ironic, because those are the two elements I try to work on the most. Sometimes more than the compositional aspects, lol. And film music is what I want to do as a career, if I ever get the opportunity. Thanks for sharing your comments! :)
