Microcosm (Movement II)

Second movement to a multi-movement work for Percussion Ensemble. 10 players. The mock-up is okay. The free stuff doesn't really come across that well, but it's alright.

The piece will make sense as a whole - as it is it feels like....the second movement to something.

Really out of this world. I withold further comments until I hear the other movements - take your time, this is quite cool stuff. This would really benefit from a spatially staged ensemble, if you know what I mean - where players are pretty much as far away from each other as possible so the audience receives a multi-dimensional experience.

I really loved this. Really loved it. The whole thing is pretty cool; its sort of half experimental and half romantic for some reason - the piano sounded very 2000's Reichian; Reich's music sorta changed in 2005; he got more melodic, and your piece certainly sounds like something he would write. I thought this was pretty darn amazing, actually. I loved it. Wonderful to listen to, and it makes me wish I was a percussionist. Your details in the score are excellent!
