January 27, 201016 yr A piece I have started only recently. If anyone has suggestions especially about structure and orchestration, I would love it. It is the beginning of a fantasy of a theme of Rachmaninoff. Fantasy

But this is easier when you would add a score (especially with questions on orchestration) I don't think this piece is finished? Did you have any ideas yet on how to finish, or what should be included? And why a fantasia?
January 27, 201016 yr Maybe it's the piano, or maybe some harmonies, but I found the background noise to be very muddled, as if the sounds of the piano kept going even after it was supposed to stop. I don't know if it can be fixed, but it's just quite hard to listen to. I felt the violins and strings were exceptionally written for in this piece, but the piano not so much. It sounded like random notes in most (not all places) As Jrcrammer said, you should definitely post a score if you want an orchestration review.
January 27, 201016 yr Nice ideas here - wish I could see a score to see how the structure and orchestration are. Those two things you really can't comment on via recording - at least correctly and in depth.
January 28, 201016 yr Author I'm posting the files as TIFF's. Right now I have about 34, because they're small page format, but I will try and bind them into one document. I haven't finished this piece, and am still considering where I want to go. Right now I am worried about the cohesiveness of the piece as a whole, and so am trying to work motifs and melodic lines from the beginning back into the structure. I chose to title this piece fantasy more as a working title. I feel like the term matches the flow of the music now. Really in this case, I had a melody I liked and started notating, and the composition sort of went from there. - impresario - I don't have a lot of control over the sound bytes, so once I have a score up, maybe you can tell me measures. I'll try my best and fix it, if it's a mistake, and it's fixable. Also, I will update with a slightly newer sound recording.
