Some elements of electronic music are included, but I rather like to call it jazz, since it would not be totally unperformable. However, a live performance requires a bunch of adjustments as well as two or three synthesizers (and a slight reduction of the speed).... (and some amazing drummer)Enjoy!... ((and a score......))

Haha, very fun, I especially liked the marimba at the beginning, and when the piano did an eighth/sixteenth/sixteenth if you know what I talking about! The second marimba was a great add in, except I think the piano was a bit to loud when it came in, and when the violin came in for that matter. Even with the melody.

The drums were my favorite part, I like how they sort of played the melody in their own way for a while, and then they'd get a sweet fast solo-like background to the piano, which was great to listen to! I would make the saxophones and brass more audible or with more interesting parts though, because they were scarcely used.

Cool tune, interesting feel!

There's a good sense of energy here - lots of frantic activity which I'm kind-of digging. I like your attempts to change the pace, but think you abandoned those textures too quickly, running off again back to the skittish main feel.

The groove is solid, and the energy is good - but you don't allow any space for it to breathe, which diminishes the impact. A little more attention to space / structure and developing the more open sections a bit more will better balance the energy and will help this thing feel a little more settled.

Overall though, good work.

I know what you mean, Robin, and I can only agree to what you mentioned.

I think I will leave this piece as it is now, but there's a good chance that I will focus a lot more on the saxophones in my next work. It will be interesting to unfold more of their potential, though I kind a fell in love with those electronic methods of abusing their original timbre and doing something that a real player could not do.

And I will certainly try to do some better mastering the next time, mr Impressario. I'm also not too satisfied with the volume relations between certain instruments.

Thanks to both of you

Haha loved the sinewave ending. I've never heard a piece like this where the electonic and the acoustic mix so well!

Hello,

I really loved the introduction... the piano and electric background have great rhythmic interplay! And that's what keeps it fresh and interesting. The introduction of all the instruments was pretty well done, and I think that the harmony is well-controlled enough to lead the listener along with your changes.

Hahaha you would need an extremely good piano player in addition to the percussion expert. But, I feel like the drumset should have been more interplayed with the piano and synthesizer in parts because they seem a bit dry without that extra textural drive. Your drumset writing is really cool! I wish I had the ability to write for set like this, but I guess like other things, it just comes with practice.

Maybe you could work on the ending a bit to have all the instruments have one final say? Just a suggestion.

Great music!

Yes, this is incredible. How long did it take to get all these ideas down? Whatever the time, it was worth it. I love the interplay between all the instruments/rhythms. I'm a fan of pseudo-electronic music. I like crossing the streams, as it were, as well. I dig it.

I think the silence/inactive parts could've been played out a little more - it would've made the ending sequence more unexpected and make more of an impact.

But, I totally dig this tune.

Really like this piece. The switching is a tad fast but doesn't really distract to much from things. When the drums roll in and such, it's really a jazzy piece. What really pulls me to this is however the piano, the notes and such flow well and it really sticks out with this. Nice work!

Wow. Excellent work on the piano... and drums.. and, well, everything. The only thing that would have increased my enjoyment of this piece would be if it were preformed live like you mentioned! Excellent work.
