"It's A Long Journey Home, Miss Lauren!"

Caleb,

I got a moment to listen. I like your overall musical sound here - sounds a lot different than your previous sounds. I will give a much more thorough review after my meeting this evening.

This has a pastoral or open-range sort of sound to my ears, is that what you were going for? I feel like your ending needs a bit more motion (I got tired of the sustained notes) and your score needs some cleaning up and removal of unused parts, but this is a solid start.

Thanks for the comments. I did go for a pastoral feel. Yes it has a very open-range feel to it as well. Although, I quite enjoy the dissonance or clashing notes at the end but I will see if there something I can do to make it more enjoyable. Thanks, Again. And Jason... I'm looking forward to your review!

I have rearranged this into a concert band piece, which my University Band is looking at to play!

Interesting take on this style... Maybe a bit in the vein of Copland's Appalachian Spring, as orchestrated for a band. Nice feeling to it.

Just my 2 cents: harmony wise, was it all planned to have semi-naked chord progressions? I mean it could be naked in the beginning, and then one could have used a harmony growing in complexity and completeness to generate an emotional climax, so as to complement your orchestration at the end with the timpanis and all... I will attempt to clarify my thoughts here by sending an example score, when I have the time...

You might want to delete the English horn part or add something to it. There is nothing for it!

I do like this. I like the harmonies. Are you going to continue on the piece?

Very movie like as well!
