Sonata for Flute and Piano-I. Giusto, ma poco moderato

I started writing this piece on Christmas of 2009. There was...well, something that happened that day...and it inspired me to write this. Vague enough? :o)Anyway, the other movements are still in the works. Excited to share movement 2 soon!

Sonata for Flute and Piano-I. Giusto, ma poco moderato

This piece fascinated me much. I really like the opening theme. I feel though that there was too often a stop and go.

I hope you want to add a score. I really want to take a more precise look to how you put this together.

I like this, a unique sound, and very convincing. Great dialouge between the instruments. This is great work! Excited to listen to the entire thing, although the ending to this movement gave sense of an anticlimax, I can see this being the start of a sandwhich becuase of this. If intended great job...if not think about making a bit bigger bang!!!. I hate how peope say for [solo instrument] and piano...its actually quite misleading...like with this piece, the piano part is more difficult than the solo instrument. This is more packaging that content though. A score would be great to see what you have done, pieces like this are likely to be notated badly, as we have now loss the editor with self publishing, meaning alot of things slip through the net into distribution.

good job mate! it must have taken you a long time to do it , could you post the score so that we could see whats going on . and whats the motif behind this piece?? its pretty weird hehe

Welcome to the forum! I really like this one. Great balance between the abstract and cohesive in my opinion. I really like the style and found it accessible and challenging. I definitely enjoy your writing more and look forward to hearing more of your work. Please post more and please post comments to the work of others. You are a good composer and your advice will be valuable.

I liked this! Interested harmony; kind of a mix between Stravinsky, Jolivet, and Piston. Your harmonies were interesting, as was the dialogue between the instruments. The flow was a bit awkward at times, though (as mentioned above). I'd like to see a score, if you could supply one. :]
