I've always had ideas about string quartets and trios, so I'll give it a shot =) (This'll give me a chance to work with counterpoint xP )

Aesthetic means any idiom or style. So it can be whatever you want. For example, if you want to compose a string trio in the baroque style... do it. If you want to compose a string trio that is fully avant-garde... do it. Any aesthetic is acceptable.

i'm for dead lines, they make me work harder..so far only 2:30~ minutes.. and no score :(

Jason I think you should keep the deadline the end of the month just so it doesn't flow over so long, maybe bring down the time demand. I don't know. Up to you. Maybe a compromise of sorts, but I don't think it makes sense to announce the winner at the end of April. (This being said even though I could probably use the extended deadline!)

If everyone else is doing fine, keep the deadline.

Well, it's not just that. I'm very, very busy and I want to make sure we all have time to do our best on this. So, for the time being we will keep it at the March 31st deadline - but that will be adjusted as needed. I have no qualms announcing the winners Apr 15 - or moving the deadline to that date.
