L'Eau (for Concert Band)

Featured Replies

I tried to post it on the site, but it wouldn't work here. So I posted it in the test site, but I don't think I'll get many views from there. So chopin gave me permission to post a link here. At least, that what I understood. So. Here's the link.

L'Eau (for Concert Band)

Peace.

Sounds like....Harry Potter.

My favorite part was the sudden shift to major on page 6. Very nice transition.

Page 14 and 15 could have been completely cut with no harm.

Lame ending.

Haha, it kind of does, but nice job (there are much worse people you could sound like than John Williams)! I feel like it doesn't go much anywhere and it's a bit too repetitious for my tastes, but you have a good sense of harmony.

I enjoyed this quite a bit, aside from a few parts I didn't find it repetitive all the time as you suggested. I think that your melodies were always slightly different but it made them seem new and exiting the way you ordered and played them. I can't be sure but I felt that you scored to heavily in quite a few places so that the melody couldn't be heard. This usually happened when Clarinet 1 had the melody. Also, I think you need to use your bassoon more efficiently.
